Notes on the Origins of Miracle City by Co-Writer D. A. Chitty
Originally entitled “Millennium”, Miracle City was inspired by the visionary composer Alexander Scriabin, who made many innovations in music. He spent the last years of his life writing his magnum opus entitled The Mysterium – which was to be a performance that would last a whole week. It would happen in a specially built temple high in the Himalayas and there would be no spectators – everyone there would be taking part in the performance. It would combine all the senses – colours, visuals, smells, tactile sensations, and of course sounds, and the end result would end the world as we know it and usher in a new age for mankind.
Upon listening to his Poem of Ecstasy and learning of his intention to create The Mysterium, we wrote an end-of-the-world sci-fi scenario combining the two together in the most imaginative, engaging and action packed way we could come up with.
